Description

One of England's finest working windmills, is situated on the edge of Alford enjoying views of the town and of the Lincolnshire Wolds. It is a handsome, six storey brick tower mill, c1837, and has four sets of working millstones. It is in commercial use as a flour mill and is open to the public all year round. The 160 year old mill is full of atmosphere and a tour involves all the senses sight, sound, movement and a characteristic fresh floury smell.

Shop

A range of organic flours of high nutritional value and flavour is produced and sold in the ground floor shop along with popular cereals and cakes. The local baker, Messrs Gray and Goodliffe (opposite Alford Manor House) offers bread baked with organic wholemeal flour from the Mill.

Catering

A converted Sail Shed now houses a stylish Tea Room and Edwardian and Victorian antiques are to be found in the old Engine House.
